COUNSELLING


My counselling degree has provided me with both the theoretical knowledge and practical tools to support individuals in exploring their thoughts, feelings and emotions. My goal is to empower clients to navigate life's challenges and create meaningful change.

I believe that each person is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. In our work together, I do not offer direct solutions or advice. Instead, I see our sessions as a collaborative journey, where I provide a supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences. Through active listening and insightful questions, I guide you to deepen your self-awareness and foster a better understanding of your own path forward. This process allows you to arrive at your own decisions, empowering you to move towards growth and positive change. My integrative approach, rooted in person-centred and existential principles, blends various techniques to offer a personalised experience.

Person-centred therapy, founded by Carl Rogers, holds that individuals have an inherent capacity for personal growth and that we all have the answers within us. This belief informs my approach, where I foster a supportive and trusting relationship, creating a safe space for you to explore your feelings and emotions. As your therapist, I offer a non-judgemental environment, accepting you for who you are, which allows you ro connect with your inner wisdom, work towards meaningful change and discover own solutions.

Existential therapy focuses on exploring deeper aspects of human existence, including freedom, responsibility, and the search for meaning. I am inspired by Carl Jung, whose work shares key themes with existentialism. Like Jung, I emphasize individuation, the journey of becoming one's true self by integrating both conscious and unconscious aspects of the psyche. He believed that self-awareness and personal growth come from understanding the deeper layers of our thought, emotions and patterns. This approach encourages you to explore your belief system and understand how it shapes the way you interpret the world and your experiences. My role is to guide you in confronting difficult questions, discovering your personal values, and navigating your journey in a way that resonates with your authentic self.

PSYCHOLOGY

My psychology degree has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, emotions, and mental processes, which form the backbone of my therapeutic practice. This academic background provides me with a deeper understanding of the complexities of human behaviour, allowing me to offer clients evidence-based insights into their thoughts and behaviours. By integrating psychological theories and research with a person-centred approach, I offer a scientifically grounded perspective that enhances the therapeutic process.

I use the knowledge gained from my study psychology to help you understand the underlying patterns that contribute to emotional struggles, enabling you to identify root causes and make informed decisions about your personal development. This blend of psychological theory and integrative counselling ensures a well-rounded and evidence-based approach to your unique challenges, empowering you to make positive change.
